Jacquesson Cuvee 746 Extra Brut
Champagne Jacquesson is a Champagne producer in Dizy in the Marne Valley (just north of Épernay), with a relatively short history going back to 1978. The estate has had a rapid rise to prominence: in the 2005 La Revue Des Vins De France, Jacquesson was rated third best of all houses after Bollinger and Krug.
Review
"Champagne Jacquesson 746 Extra Brut is a lusciously creamy, bone-dry sparkling wine (with less than 6 g/L of residual sugar). Olfactorily, it is intricate, exuding dominant scents of patisserie, lemon, apple, and pear. On the palate, it is pristine and full-bodied. Fruity nuances are present. The acidity is harmoniously balanced. The effervescence consists of delicate bubbles. A hint of ginger imparts a vivacious character."
