Groffier Chambertin Clos-de-Beze Grand Cru 2018

Robert Groffier is a winery in the Morey-Saint-Denis commune in Burgundy. The majority of the producer's vineyards are in Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin from which it makes a range of Grand Cru and Premier Cru wines.

"Deep purple, with a sensual nose, enhanced by the whole bunch content. Then the oak emerges just a little bit, totally in support. There’s an incredible density here at the back of the mouth, centenarian vines more or less. This has a completely different register of fruit, head and shoulders. Finishes fresh, almost austere but there is too much fruit weight for that. The fruit is perfectly on the cusp of red and black, with a little salinity as well." - 97-99pts, Jasper Morris
