Burgundy

Burgundy is the king of world class Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

The Cote d'Beaune is famous for its Chardonnay from appellations such as Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet as well as some Pinot Noir from Volnay.  The Cote d'Nuits is famous for its Pinot Noir from appellations such as Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny and Vosne-Romanee.

Chablis is actually closer to Champagne than Burgundy's famed slopes and produces its own style of Chardonnay - crisp and mineral driven wines.
